Cats for Adoption

Scroll down to see the lovely cats now ready for new homes. Information about adopting a cat from the Mississauga Humane Society is available on our Adoption Info page.

Please note, MHS does not declaw any of our cats as it is a full amputation of the last phalanx of the cat's paw; so unless specifically listed, all our cats have their claws.

Martini                                               Male - Fixed - FIV+,Friendly, shy at first, social

Martini is the life of the party! This sweet boy started out in his foster home nervous and afraid from his tough life before; but once he found out about pets and treats, he turned over a new leaf! He is a social guy who loves to be with other cats, or super loving humans; he greets his foster mom at the door when she arrives home, loves his laser toy, and treats are a huge favourite!
He is FIV+, and will need to remain an indoor cat; so far he has not shown any complications or issues from his FIV.

ASLAN                            ADOPTED!!!
Aslan is the big brother of his foster group, he takes all the other cats he meets under his wing and makes sure they feel safe! He is a social guy who loves attention and pets; he is looking for a multi cat home, or one where his new family can keep up with his love! He has a rough past, leading to his FIV+ but he doesn't let that hold him back!
He is FIV+, and will need to remain an indoor cat; so far he has not shown any complications or issues from his FIV.

BONDED PAIRS

A bonded pair is two cats that must be adopted together, and kept together. They have a special bond, many rely on each other for comfort, courage, and guidance. They have all the medical coverage of our adult cats.

LOVETTE AND JEREMIAH        Male/Female - 9 years - Fixed - Siblings, reserved

Lovette and Jeremiah "Jerry" have been in foster care together for a long time. We estimate their ages to be around 9 years (their birthdate listed is a guess).

This pair have had a rough start to life and have been each others support system through everything. Lovette is the more confident of the pair, and his her brother Jerry when he feels overwhelmed.
They are looking for a quiet, adult home to enjoy their forever humans and each other. They are not lap cats, but bring a peaceful, loving energy into the home!

DD and CHARLES            Males - Fixed - FIV+, loving, shy, bonded
DD and Charles are best friends! They met in foster care, and can always been found snuggling up like this! DD, the grey, does have some issues like a weepy eye, a cataract, but he does pretty well otherwise! He'd be best in a home with just him and Charles as he has been bullied in the past; you'll barely notice though because he loves his chin and cheek rubs and comes literally calling to you! Charles, the tabby/white, needs DD as a bit of a security blanket, he had a rough start and is a bit more timid then his best bud. Charles does love his pets though, once he gets to know you! He is also the master yoga man, and sleeps anywhere, in any position!
They are both FIV+

LUKE AND LIDIA                Male/Female - 5 years - Fixed - Siblings, reserved
Luke and Lidia are a tight pair; they have been together for years and we want to keep it that way. Lidia relies on her brother for support and courage in new situations; Luke is the braver of the two and was the first to trust his foster mom.

They both have some reservations about being picked up and handled but they do enjoy being brushed and pet on their terms. They enjoy rounds of laser pointer and chase the wand toy. They are comfortable with other cats, have not experienced life with a dog, and are used to a mature home.

Maria is a sweet yet shy girl who is looking for a home that will love her for who she is. She doesn't currently like to be pet, but she enjoys keeping close to her foster mom while she's on the computer or watching TV.

Charles and Camilla are 2 kittens from a family we rescued from someone's backyard. They are bonded, and as you can see, perfectly matched bookends of each other! Charles (grey) is the bold leader of the pair, he leads the household expeditions into uncharted territory! Camilla follows her brother's lead, and looks to him for confidence in new situations.  They are both growing more social and cuddly in foster care!

JASMINE                      Female - 4 months - Sensitive Tummy - Sweet, Playful
Jasmine was found with her mom and litter mates in someone's window well this past summer! She was touch and go at the beginning, and we weren't sure she was going to pull through with bouts of digestive distress, and multple visits to the vets. But she is a FIGHTER! This tough little girl pulled through against all odds and has spent the last month of summer THRIVING in foster care! She is a bundle of energy, playful, and looking for a home to share her huge heart with!
