With heavy hearts we have to announce the passing of a long term foster, Abby, who got to live our her senior years in the loving home of Terri who loved her to the moon and back.
Abby was a 16 1/2 year old diabetic, struggling with kidney function and healing from a broken heart herself when her owner at 82 had to be moved to a nursing home and Abby needed a new home. Even from day one, Terri fell for Abby's gorgeous face and need for a comfortable home for her senior years. Although Abby was not pleased to have to share her senior home with Terry's own cat, and later her foster friend Ace, she enjoyed being the Queen to the boys and running the house! This is the hardest part of rescue; giving animals their second chance, having your life changed in exponential ways before having to send them off to the rainbow bridge. We know Terri is grieving, but we hope she finds comfort in knowing she provided Abby with the love and adoration she needed to enjoy her final years. Thank you Terri for opening your heart.
