Ace and Abbey(RIP)

Ace and Abbey (RIP)
Ace and Abby's foster mom has this to say: "Ace, who is 12  1/2  years old, is one of the friendliest and loving cats I have ever seen.  He is so easygoing and gets along with the other cats because he is so respectful to them.  I have nicknamed him Squeak because when he meows, only a little squeak comes out or the 'silent meow' comes out...so cute.  He also sleeps on the bed most nights and loves to give my cheeks love bites!  Ace is currently in remission from his diabetes and I give him a strict diet of high protein and no carbs to keep him this way.  I have gotten my cat into remission as well and it is easy for me to control their dietary needs ...no dry food to worry about.  I test Ace monthly for his blood sugar level and he hates it but it is so necessary.  This lovable, little guy is a joy and has also wormed his way into my heart!"

When Abby came into her final home, she was the queen of all! She ruled with an iron fist and all the cats knew who was boss. She had a hard time adjusting after loosing her 82 year old owner, and was bitter and resentful, but her foster mom loved her just the same. Abby lived with diabetes and was in a losing battle with growing number of tumors, but she was kept comfortable and loved until her final days.
In the beginning of her stay with her mom, she dealt some tough love but always came up at the end of the night to take over the queen sized bed she shared with her human. Her foster mom kept her loved, warm, and comfortable to live out the last few years in a home, and is devastated to have lost her. This is the hard part of rescue and foster, giving them the love and comfort every animal deserves in their senior years, and struggling with the hole in your heart they leave behind them.

Their foster mom still has Ace to help soothe the ache of Abby's passing, and we are so lucky to have such a strong, passionate woman caring for our senior cats. Thank you for all your work and dedication.

Ace's monthly cost $72
